Course Learning Objectives

This course builds a strong foundation in algebra, trigonometry, and introductory calculus. It is designed to prepare you for further study in mathematics and related fields by developing essential problem-solving skills and mathematical understanding.

The course is organized into four main units:

  • Unit 1: Algebra and Functions
Strengthen algebra skills with polynomials, radicals, and equations. Learn what functions are, how they behave, and how to interpret and graph them—including trigonometric functions.

        Unit 1 Learning Objectives

  • Unit 2: Limits and Continuity
Discover the concept of a limit, how to evaluate limits, and how limits connect to continuity in functions.

         Unit 2 Learning Objectives

  • Unit 3: Introduction to Derivatives
Explore what derivatives mean, how to calculate them, and why they are useful. Learn the basic rules of differentiation.

  • Unit 4: Advanced Differentiation
Build on your derivative knowledge by learning more powerful techniques, such as the Chain Rule, and applying them to more complex functions.

        Unit 3 & 4 Learning Objectives

  • Coordinator's note
    • These exams are provided to aid in your study; they should not be considered practice exams.
    • A "score" that you assign yourself on a past exam is not a reliable predictor of a score on a future exam.
    • There should be no expectation that questions on future exams will be similar to those of past exams.
    • The sections covered on each exam may not be the same from semester to semester
